RECOGNIZED FOR ITS NUTRITIONAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL INTERESTS BY INTERNATIONAL AUTHORITIES.
Some weeks ago, Bleu-Blanc-Coeur staff was in Washington DC to study the best way to develop Bleu-Blanc-Cœur in the USA!
It is a challenge country when we know the nutritional situation and so the health status of the population. In 2016, 40% of the women and 35% of the men had Obesity issues. The children are also widely concerned by this epidemic.
In the supermarket linear, the dietary supplements are important. I’ve been astonished to see the linear size. We also find some supplement for Vegan people (all of them don’t look perfectly natural…).
The new trend of « free of » product is growing too: gluten free, free of antibiotic, hormone free, free of fat, cholesterol free… and probably free of flavor.
Wouldn’t be urgent to help our American cousins to bring back in the plate, adequate nutrition, taste and flavor? At Bleu-Blanc-Coeur, we believe it is: “yes we can”!
During our trip, we have met well known Scientist in Nutrition, lipids and Public Health. From my point of view, it was an honor to meet and discuss with Experts from whom I heard since 17 years that I worked at Bleu-Blanc-Coeur : Bill LANDS, Artemis SIMOPOULOS, Joe HIBBELN…
I particularly appreciated their enthusiasm about our French project Bleu-Blanc-Coeur! They talked about our project as if we were promoting the new French paradox: The Bleu-Blanc-Coeur paradox which (after the Mediterranean diet, the Cretan diet…) contributes to improve the Population health status!
Dream and reality: for us to meet those world leaders, and for Bill & Joe to move from Science to Reality thanks to BBC
They are convinced. And Bill Lands showed us that the Bleu-Blanc-Cœur model is matching with a ratio linked to good health status for which he has worked for decades. This ratio is correlated to the enhancement of our nutritional status, the decrease of the occurrence of civilization diseases, and also the decrease of the Health cost!
For Joe Hibbeln, American Public Health Officer, the majority of the Civilization disease (diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, depression, overweight, obesity, etc.) is explained in our plate by the loss of nutrient density * of our food in our plate. It is today, a certainty built on hundreds of intervention studies, epidemiological data and mechanistic data.
* Nutrient density: Identifies the proportion of interesting nutrients in foods divided by the calories. The interesting nutrients are well defined by Health Community (vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, fiber, phytonutrients…).
With Joe HIBBELN and John Paul San Giovanni (Epidemiologic specialist from the NIH), we plan to set up a collaborative research program between USA and France to qualify the impact of the food of French population (with or without Bleu-Blanc-Cœur) on our health. A nice way to highlight the “Bleu-Blanc-Coeur French paradox “!
During our stay, we also met various economic players and institutional representatives, who congratulates us about our approach, an exmplary project which gathers agriculture, food, health and environment!
Bleu-Blanc-Coeur to conquer USA ? Next to come.
To conclude, I would like to copy Bill LANDS who signs all his notes and his emails by this: “Be well & remember to NIX the 6 and EAT the 3”.
